Fundraising students at Humber College seek rewarding careers that better society and make a difference - thestar.com: Think of Celebrity Apprentice but without the harsh “You’re fired!” at the end of a project.

“And thankfully we don’t have to do everything in one day,” laughs Malinda DenBok, who graduated from Humber College’s fundraising program last year.

But the popular reality TV show, in which competitors stage a charity event under the critical eye of business tycoon Donald Trump, does offer a behind-the-scenes glimpse into the workings of the charitable sector.

It’s an environment that captivates Humber students during the intensive, 12-month program called Fundraising and Volunteer Management.
