Scoutmaster has proven to be a worthy fundraiser Standard-Times: Raising $1.2 million in the two years he's been in San Angelo, Reeve was able to speak about fundraising challenges from a West Texas perspective in his 90-minute presentation, which, after an introduction of what Boy Scouts is all about, dealt with rebounding from natural catastrophes that the council endured last year.
"Twenty-six tornadoes in Oklahoma, and drought and wildfires in West Texas, affected our fundraising opportunities," Reeve said, noting that a larger percentage of contributors are ranchers or businesses tied to agriculture.

With Laisie in sunny San Francisco, Matt and Mike made the trip out to the west coast for the Association of Fundraising Professional’s 49th annual international conference in mainly overcast yet absolutely stunning Vancouver. It was certainly a spectacular backdrop for the 3 day conference at the beautifully designed Vancouver Centre.

Stephen Pidgeon: Give donors more digital feedback
Stephen Pidgeon: Give donors more digital feedback: 've just come back from the huge Association of Fundraising Professionals conference in North America, held this year in Vancouver, Canada. The current conference fad is a plethora of sessions on story-telling, and some are pretty good. But so many conference sessions nowadays simply explore new techniques to screw more donations out of supporters. Few sessions describe fundraisers demonstrating to their donors with absolute clarity what impact their kind donations are having on the problems portrayed.

The AFP Blog: The Vancouver Experience
The AFP Blog: The Vancouver Experience: And that’s what we wanted to convey in Vancouver—and all of our conferences. Our international conference is more than an educational opportunity - it’s an experience—one that invigorates and inspires, provides perspective and learning.
I think what Colleen Clark posted on her blog hits the nail on the head—it’s about idealism, reminding us why we all got involved in fundraising. She writes:

Fired-Up Fundraising: 7 Provocative Ideas Guaranteed to Shake Up Your Fundraising Results | Fired-Up Fundraising | Gail Perry Associates: Here are my top, favorite BIG PROVOCATIVE IDEAS from the conference.
I hope they will shake up everything you do: from your approach to your donors, your fundraising strategies, your board, your accounting metrics, your message.
You might say that some of these ideas are old news. BUT the presenters just nailed the issue in a new, provocative way.

How one fundraiser secured her place at an international conference.
In my years as a fundraiser I’ve come across many inspiring stories. But without doubt the most inspiring tale of commitment to attend a conference is the story of my friend Sudeshna Mukherjee.
